Overheard some JWs on the train today- going to be interesting this year

cruising down to the city this afternoon we were behind a group of j-dubs on the train.

part of the conversation centered around the "generation" teaching.

all of them clearly trying to wrap their heads around it.

Ex-brother-in-law Elder comes by to visit after 12-15 years.

he had just return from.

cross country trip, he visited my daughter and her family in the mid west.. he came by to tell me, her last words with tears in her eyes, tell dad i love.

A new start? Watchtower renaming at HQ Columbia Heights

who was in any doubt that our jw believe is a marketing model, see this pictures of the still existing hq of jw at columbia heights.. earlier comments on jwn that something is going to change in the organisation, these comments are true.. in a few years we will not talk about the watchtower society, we wil talk about jw.org.

i think the current leadership will make a transfer to a new start.

WT's 2 BOE Letters Flip-Flop!

everyone knows about the recent across-the-board okay to use electronic devices in jw worship.

few, though, know about how not long ago it was considered a taboo.. first, there was that dc talk a couple of years back where they nearly demonized simply the ownership of a smart phone, ipads (i phones, blackberries, etc) let alone the use of them at meetings.

they brought out that they were a waste of time, expensive and that they exposed a christian to satan's world on the internet.

Elder blows a head gasket

ok so today while at breakfast get a phone call fom my daughter asking were i am because an elder/ friend had stoped by my house hoping to see me.

its been a few months since ive seen this guy and the only one that seems to actually care.

so anyway he meets me at were i was having breakfast and we start to talk.

I know an elder who blew a gasket after seeing the masturbation video on YouTube... He insisted that it DID NOT come from the Society and never even bothered to verify after being told where to find it on jw.org... he just refused to believe it...

Blood sausage

while visiting our neighbors across the pond, i visited a butcher store to rustle up something for supper.

that was the first time i had ever seen blood sausage.

we just never see it over here in the states.. when a witness leaves the organization over there, do they all eat blood sausage once again?

should I tell the CO my doubts?

its possible i might be asked by the co to work with him today.

hes gonna want to know why i'm holding myself back.

i'm itching to tell him about my doubts (only about the new light, how i cant get my head around how the hs would direct us to believe falsehoods for decades, not about everything, that'd be suicide!

About 4 years ago, I had a meeting with the COBE and the CO regarding 1975, 1935, 1914 and other subjects.

The CO was very-well briefed by the COBE so he'd arrived my home with a thick stack of paper divided into about 25 stapled-together sections. I gasped for a second as the sight of all that paper was overwhelming and I hadn't a clue what it was all about (at first).

Cutting to chase...

When the CO finally started reading these papers to me, I immediately realized that these were all Watchtower articles that I had already read from the Watchtower Library CD (and quite recently)! Each time he started reading off one of his "booklets", I'd reply: "I read that already". He'd then get flustered and starts reading another one, to which I'd reply: "I read that one also".

Before long, he ran out of ammunition and I'd fill the awkward silence with information I had read from the Proclaimers book. His reaction? He sighs, looks over at the COBE as if to say 'don't just sit there, say something' then he started flipping through his Reasoning book. I mean this CO had lost control of the situation and it became plainly obvious that he was ill-prepared to address my concerns.

He then looks at me and says: "I'll be honest. I've been so busy over the past 9 years and I've been meaning to read the Proclaimers book, but I just never had the time." He even took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of setting aside sufficient time for "personal study". He asked me if we could meet again and I said "of course". But when the time came to meet again (about 8 months later), it was too late. I was already out mentally and physically.

Poor guy. I actually felt sorry for him. He meant well. But, in the end, he realized it wasn't his usual walk in the park where he could just read off some WT rag articles and call it a day... I just wonder how many COs are as ill-prepared as this one and how much time they actually have for "personal study"...

So anyways..... I say go for it! Tell him What's the worse that could happen?

New! Borg instruct to report tract placements

there's a new letter coming up next week to be read instructing the publishers to begin reporting the number of tracts placed in the ministry, including copies of kingdom news 38, annual invitations, district handbills and other tracts.

lol.

see, the borg is allegue about numbers, and why on earth do they tell you to start counting placement in the middle of a campaing, like the one they are doing now witk kingdom news 38 and not before it started??.

The WT knows that most JWs will never see the suspicious ambiguity in the details... It's all about showing them a fat bottom line and telling them how great they are compared to their competition at Babylon the Great...
